Saturday - Will be spent in Rangers Reserve forge, using carbon steel to forge your own kukri.  Then you will learn how to harden and flame temper the blade. Additionally, we shall be spending time on adding a handle to your full tang blade.

Sunday (You can choose) You will spend the day learning defense craft with your kukri, this will be run by Tactrac. It will feature their system of close-quarters combat. You will learn how to defend yourself against knives, panga’s, firearms and basic hand to hand techniques. The system has been built over many years for teaching operators for working on the African continent. It is a highly effective amalgamation of six different disciplines with a focus on defending against multiple attackers. You will also learn the psychology of attack and acquire the skills of reading the body language of imminent threat scenarios. Wear comfortable clothing and trainers.

Will be spent in the outdoors on our campsite as an introduction to basic survival craft, where you will put both your new skills and your axe to the test. During the day some of the elements you will learn are priorities of survival, bug out bags, safe cutting tool handling, shelters (tarps and knotwork), firelighting.
